REMEMBER TO VOTE NOVEMBER 4

I know I’m excited!  Every vote is important, especially for John McCain and Sarah Palin.

So head to the polls tomorrow, and I’ll be back on Wednesday with some new information on the future of Down the Ticket.

Awww…get Nick Lampson’s blankie, he needs a nappy-poo!

Poor Nick Lampson, he’s just all tuckered out these days:

“I need a break. We all do,” says democrat Nick Lampson, who is defending his seat in the 22nd Congressional District. “It’s an exciting period, though, when we have an opportunity to meet so many people.”

Well, I have good news for you, Nick!  It looks like you’re about to have a long break

Some great news out of Texas!

There was a lot happening in Texas’ 22nd District this weekend, starting with this press release from the Olson campaign.  It seems that the Houston-area CBS affiliate KHOU has rejected an add from the DCCC promoting Rep. Nick Lampson:

[Friday] KHOU Channel 11 pulled a misleading television ad by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee that falsely smeared Republican Congressional Candidate in Texas’ 22nd congressional district, Pete Olson. KHOU decided to pull the ad after it was presented with a letter, affidavit by Pete Olson and evidence proving that the DCCC knowingly ignored evidence disproving the false claims.

[…]

“Voters are tired of these tactics by long-time politicians and their operatives,” Olson said. “It’s time for a change in Washington – the kind that will bring character, leadership and Conservative values back to our Capitol, and return government to the side of the people instead of the side of the party. The voters of the 22nd district deserve better than this.”

Yes, they do.  And speaking of ads, the NRCC has released a new one highlighting Rep. Lampson’s misplaced priorities.

Something tells me that TV stations won’t be forced to pull that ad.   But, if polls are correct, the people of Texas’ 22nd District wont have to worry about Nick’s tricks for much longer.  From the Houston Chronicle:

U.S. Rep. Nick Lampson, D-Stafford, trailed Republican challenger Pete Olson by 17 percentage points early last week, according to the survey by Zogby International. The poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 5 percentage points.

Things are looking up!  Perhaps voters are starting to realize that Blue Dog Democrats talk centrist, but don’t act it.

Nick Lampson can’t even count on his own wife’s vote

Here are the details from Erick Erickson at RedState (emphasis in the original):

If I were one of the Texas-22 citizen questioners attending this debate, I would ask a simple question of Congressman Lampson: does Lampson anticipate getting his wife’s vote in the November election?

Turns out, according to sources we have in Texas, that Nick Lampson’s wife is not even registered to vote in Texas 22.

She lives in Beaumont, TX – at an address well outside of the district – and this is where she is registered.  She’s in the 2nd District, and is represented by Republican Ted Poe. The address is on Collier Road in Beaumont.

Why does it matter?  Well, you can find out why at the link.

I’d rather be average and smart…

…than “beautiful” and stupid.  Nick Lampson’s “beuatiful” spokesman Trevor Kincaid would obviously prefer to be the latter.  Take a look at the errors, lies, and inaccuracies he provided to the press on behalf of his boss, Nick Lampson, and ask yourself if you think that Lampson is spending this $60,000 a year wisely.

I love the smell of Democratic desperation in the morning….

Stop Nick’s Tricks, Send Pete Olson to Congress!

The people at Pete Olson’s campaign have created a great site tracking the positions on Nick Lampson’s campaign page and comparing it to his record in Congress.  What they’ve found is that when Lampson say he support’s something, it’s a highly nuanced claim indeed.

For example, while he told a constituent this summer that he had consistently voted for opening ANWR and the outer continental shelf for drilling, his record shows that he voted against both of these issues eleven times.

The site even has audio of Rep. Lampson ranting against oil companies.

So, if you’re in Texas’ 22nd Congressional District, or know someone who is, make sure they explore this site.  Lampson’s constituents deserve to know Lampson’s actual record in Congress, instead of the pretend record he posts on his website.

Better yet, they deserve a Congressman who stays true to his word.  Help give them one by donating to Pete Olson’s campaign.

What Lampson does when he’s not campaigning

The Pete Olson campaign launched a new website today to help TX-22 residents keep track of the Pelosi-like votes their “moderate” Democratic Rep. Nick Lampson makes while in DC.  It’s called Nick’s DC Tricks, and so far it covers such issues as energy, the federal budget, and illegal immigration.  Check it out.
